The M showing is located within the Central Quesnel Belt. The Quesnel Belt consists of Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic sedimentary and volcanic rocks considered to be northern equivalents of the Nicola Group. Intruding these rocks are small felsic to intermediate alkalic plutons of Lower to Middle Jurassic age which are comagmatic with the volcanic rocks of the upper part of the Nicola stratigraphy. Mouse Mountain is underlain by one of these alkalic plutons (the Mouse Mountain Stock). The stock here is composed of syenite, syeno-diorite and monzonite, with minor gabbro. The stock has intruded Upper Triassic basaltic rocks and Lower Jurassic mafic to felsic polylithologic breccias. The M showing is underlain by gabbro which has intruded Upper Triassic basalt. Chalcopyrite mineralization is reported to occur within the gabbro.

The group, which consisted of 41 claims, was owned in 1970 by Canadian Superior Ekploration Limited. The assessment work included a 20 line-mile induced polarization

survey, a 20 line-mile magnetometer survey, and 500 soil sample.

The exact location of the the M showing is poorly defined (see Geology, Explortion and (Minng in BC 1970, Figure E). The MINFILE plot area has been explored as part of the Mouse Mountain property (093G 003) and the reader should refer to that property description and bibliography for pertinent data and history. No reference to the M occurrence appears in any of the Mouse Mountain assessment reports.
